Photo: Conference Vilnius-Adolfo SansoliniTime goes fast, and 28 May 2014 marks the third anniversary of this website. I think this is a good opportunity for me to thank those who visit the site and those who help to create it.
A few figures will show why: 1,700 people visited the AnimalWelfareAndTrade website in the first year, nearly 2,500 in the second, and over 2,900 in the last 12 months, making a total of over 11,400 separate visits; in the last year the number of countries and territories from which people have visited this website has grown from 104 to 128; around 29,000 pages have been viewed, with an average 2.51 page views per visit.
In order to respond to this growing attention, 10 issues of the AWAT Newsletter have been produced already, 7 of which came out in the last 12 months. And for those of you who don’t want to wait for the Newsletter, the Facebook  and Twitter pages are constantly being updated with links to new articles.
I would like to renew my special thanks to the site’s web designer and web manager, Caterina Moreddu, and to its copy editor, Adam Thorn, for their amazing support. As with most other animal welfare initiatives, this website could not exist without good teamwork.
Among the initiatives of this period, my module in the Latin American online course on farm animal welfare is coming up at the end of June. Watch out for exciting news on the CAROdog website, where you will find some surprises soon, and follow the evolution of Italian Horse Protection, which is now looking for new premises for the horses adopted and cared for by the Association.
As always, thank you for visiting this website,

firma
