On 11 October, I returned to Hartpury College in Gloucester (UK) as a guest lecturer.

As in previous years, my lecture was on “Improving welfare through trade legislation and standards”.

I hope the information I shared will help Hartpury students to form their own opinions on how animal welfare can be improved through trade policies and legislation, and how they can support this process.

Many thanks to Dr Stella Chapman for including this topic in this year’s course again.

In my previous lectures, I was excited to see how genuinely engaged the audience was, and how many questions were asked after my presentation. I looked forward to meeting a new group of students, and discussing with them various ways of helping animals using trade.
